What do we believe we’re here for?
We are a warm and welcoming community of Christians from in and around the town of Ripley in Derbyshire. We are a part of the Church of England and our church of All Saints is the parish church for most of Ripley and some of the nearby area. Our focus and purpose is expressed in the words of Archbishop Justin Welby; “First, the church exists to worship God in Jesus Christ. Second, the Church exists to make new disciples of Jesus Christ.”
We believe that God loves and wants to bless his church and that God loves and wants to bless our town and surrounding area. We long to see people enabled and equipped to be all that God has created them to be and to see our lives and communities transformed by the love of Jesus.
In all that we do, we seek to be shaped by some values that are important to us:
- Having Jesus at the centre
- Making prayer a priority
- Listening to God through the Bible
- Depending on the empowering presence of the Holy Spirit
- Being generous in attitude and action
- Believing everyone matters to God and has a significant part to play
- Proclaiming the Kingdom of God through word and action
